ICARE Scholarship

Caren Ware, 12-time National Track & Field Champion and 2-time World Champion, has a passion for inspiring active living by offering fun fitness for all abilities and bodies. Her company, Caren Ware Events, coordinates two races at ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ annually. Members of the college’s Circle K Club volunteer and they are instrumental in ensuring that the events go off without a hitch. This scholarship is to give back to a student who shows they CARE through their volunteering.

Ikemi-Murakami Music Endowed Scholarship

Kristine Murakami worked for decades assisting students and colleagues as a member of the classified staff in the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Library. She loved music and was a friend of the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Music Department. Her mother was a pianist and lifelong piano teacher. Kristine and her sister were surrounded by music while growing up and were encouraged to have music in their lives. In memory of and in honor of their mother, they founded the Ikemi-Murakami Music Scholarship for ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ instrumental and/or keyboard music majors who have demonstrated musical excellence on their instrument and have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Im Sun Kim Memorial Endowed Scholarship

As a single immigrant mother, Im Sun Kim, raised her four children while working full time, learning a new language, and building a new life. This endowment supports students whose determination is greater than their circumstances. It provides meaningful assistance to support them in pursuing higher education and build stronger futures for themselves and their families.

Iman Khosrowpour Endowed Scholarship

Iman Khosrowpour was an adjunct professor of applied violin and viola and a broad variety of music classes, as well as conductor of the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Symphony Orchestra for ten years. His teaching challenged and inspired students to become the best musicians possible and to recognize the value of music to the community. This scholarship was established by Iman’s family, friends, and colleagues in honor of the incredible impact he had on his students.

Irvine Forward Foundation Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Wall Scholarship

The Irvine Forward Foundation established this scholarship in honor of longtime Irvine Chamber member Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Wall. Prior to his passing, Lt. Col. Wall was an active member of the association who strongly believed in the transformative power of education and the impact of scholarships. This scholarship was created to carry forward his commitment and continue the work he so deeply valued

It’s Never Too Late to Become What You Might Have Been Scholarship

When Sonya Mitchell Winder attended ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´, she was a single mother who had survived a number of challenging events in her life. Determined to create more opportunities for herself, she was committed to earning her associate degree. Receiving scholarships is one of the things that motivated her to continue. She established this scholarship to provide support in the hopes that it will have the same impact on the recipients.

ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Administrators and Managers Scholarship

The managers at ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ interact with students on a daily basis outside of the classroom. They hear about the successes and failures of their academic careers. Through this, they understand that many of our students face large financial barriers which often stop them from continuing their education. With that in mind, this group created a scholarship to ensure that a student who is continuing their education at ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ with a minimum GPA of 3.5 has the financial resources needed to continue their education.

ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Classified Senate Endowed Scholarship

Classified professionals proudly come together every year to organize fundraising activities in order to provide funds to help students. Recipients are selected by the Classified Senate Scholarship Committee and are awarded to a full-time continuing student who is self-supporting, demonstrates community or college involvement, and has a minimum GPA of 3.0.

ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Faculty Osher Endowed Scholarship

This scholarship beautifully reflects the wonderful connection between educators and their students. Founded by the generosity and dedication of ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´â€™s own faculty, this award is a personal investment in their students to help them achieve their dreams.

ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Guidance and Counseling Excellence in Motion Endowed Scholarship and Resort

This scholarship is awarded to students who are transferring to a four-year university. Students must qualify for exemption from out-of-state tuition, according to the regulations of California state law AB 540, and must have completed 30 transferable units with a minimum GPA of 3.0 at ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´.

ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Guidance and Counseling Global Distinction Endowed Scholarship

ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ appreciates the diversity of its student body and the role that international students play in campus life. Their participation in classes, clubs and programs provide all of us with a better understanding of traditions, customs, and general ways of living in other countries. The Guidance and Counseling department at ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ created this award to honor an international student at ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ who excelled in these areas as they contributed to making ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ the incredible institution that it is.

ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Honors Program Exemplary Achievement Scholarship

Throughout the year, Honors faculty are continually impressed by the exceptional quality of work produced by Honors students in our enriched courses. Inspired by this level of dedication and achievement, this scholarship was established to recognize and support those who embody our Honors values of intellectual curiosity, collaborative community, and academic integrity.

ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Scholar-Athletes of the Year

Scholar-Athletes of the Year is the longest standing award presented to ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ student-athletes and was established as a community partnership with the Exchange Club of Irvine in 1999. Award winners epitomize the highest level of achievement in competition, the classroom, and within our community, and embody personal excellence through their skills, commitment, and work ethic.

ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Spanish Department Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a student completing either the AA degree or the AAT degree in Spanish by the end of the spring semester.

ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Student Alumni Osher Endowed Scholarship

Built on the idea of paying it forward, this scholarship connects the past and present of the ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ community. Through the generosity of ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ alumni, this award provides a meaningful helping hand to a continuing student in good academic standing, giving them the momentum and resources they need to complete their academic journey.

ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´ Transfer Scholarship

Working in ÌÇÐÄÔ­´´â€™s Transfer Center, Tuan Nguyen has seen firsthand the challenges that students in the Forgotten Middle face. Their families earn too much for the student to qualify for financial aid, but not enough to pay for college. He established this scholarship to help students in the Forgotten Middle to continue their education.
